Add the chocolate and caramel to a fondue pot or a large bowl.
Add the cream to a small pot. Split the vanilla bean and scrape the seeds into the cream, then add the pod. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
Once simmering, immediately pour the vanilla cream over the chocolate and let stand for 1 to 2 minutes. Add the salt and stir gently until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth.
Remove the vanilla pod and serve immediately.
Place the fondue pot on a serving platter. Arrange the cake, apples, shortbread, marshmallows, and pretzels around the fondue pot. Then add the bananas, pineapple, Nilla Wafers, potato chips, and strawberries.
Serve with wooden skewers or fondue forks.
