I’m a TV girl through and through. I especially love celebrating season premieres or finales with friends. Needless to say, I am obsessed with Handmaid’s Tale and the story of Gilead. Anyone else?
Play Up the Show’s Themes
For the season finale, I created this on-theme fruit board board, using one of the show’s famous phrases: “blessed be the fruit.” You can take it to the next level and add a cheesy pun with the addition of Brie to make it a “Blessed BRIE The Fruit Board.” Cheese is the perfect compliment to fruit and vice versa. Trust me!
For any fruit board, I tend to add a fun dip or spread as a fun pairing. In this case, it was another opportunity to create an on-theme pun with “Under his Chai (Latte) Dip” (a play on “under his eye,” another one of the show’s popular phrases). You can use this recipe for a Chai Latte dip.
And if you love other TV show ideas, here’s my Game of Throne’s Board.
Happy viewing! PS- below I accidentally labeled the slices of dragon fruit as “passion fruit,” but the ingredient on the bottom right is in fact Dragon Fruit (otherwise known as pitaya).
What Size Is This Board?
The board in these photos is 14.5in diameter and no longer available, however, this round wood tray is the most similar in size. Another option is this small board with a lip from Crate & Barrel; the lip and lightweight design makes perfect for traveling to a friend’s house to watch the show. Just put tinfoil over the top. You can see that I used it here on the crostini appetizer post.
