Best Aldi Cheeses

I love Aldi wine & cheese, and the best part about Aldi is that they offer affordable options. And while I enjoy fancy cheese just as much as the next person (OK, fine–maybe more), sometimes my budget doesn’t. For those nights when you’re craving charcuterie but need to go easy on your wallet, go to Aldi! They have a great selection at even better prices.

In this post you’ll find a price breakdown of all my favorite Aldi picks! More of a Trader Joe’s shopper? Check out my $65 Trader Joe’s Board, $35 Trader Joe’s Board, and One-Stop Shipping Guide.

Aldi Cheese Board 101

Cheeses

As always, I like to include a mix of hard (manchego & cheddar) and soft (brie & goat cheese) cheeses. I also like to vary the types of milks. In this case cow’s milk (brie & cheddar), goat’s milk (honey goat cheese), and sheeps milk (Manchego)

Meats

Pick your own or use this 3 pack (pictured above) to get a great variety! If you go the first route, I always like to get at least one hard salami and at least one softer meat like prosciutto or sliced salami.

Produce

Always focus on what’s in season (it will taste better and be more affordable). Budget-wise, organic will be more expensive, but worth it if that’s your priority. For this board, I am using non-organic to keep the budget under $50. Note that you can always forgo fresh fruit and focus on dried fruit! Dried apricots are a great staple for boards and I used them here in addition to fresh produce.

Crackers

There are a variety of cracker options to choose from at Aldi! Go with your heart here. I always put some on the board, and then serve the rest in a bowl or a basket on the side.

Accoutrements

Choose a mix of sweet and salty, crunchy and soft. Texture is key here! I also like to buy things that will keep for a while (like olives and almonds) so I can use them on other boards. All about the budget, baby!

I’m heading to Aldi’s today! How many people does this “recipe” serve? I need to make a board for 15-20 people. Thanks!

    1. Meg Quinn (Ain't Too Proud To Meg) says:

Yay. This board will be perfect for your 15-20 person party as long as there is other food served. Cheese boards are great as a part of a larger spread where other foods are present so there is less pressure to “feed everyone.” That said, this board has a number of different cheeses and accoutrements to keep everyone happy. I would serve this board at a party with anywhere from 10-20+, depending on how much other food will be there.
