BarkCuterie: A Charcuterie Board for Dogs!

In honor of National Pet Day, I put together the barking cutest canine charcuterie board. When it comes to showering your dogs with treats and pampering them with belly rubs, there’s no such thing as going too far. The most important thing to keep in mind when putting this board together is that not all human food is safe for dogs! I made sure to only include non-toxic snacks, but if your dog has other preferences, check out some of the safe substitutions below.
Pro tip: use cookie cutters (like these!) to create dog-themed shapes for your favorite furry friend. For inspiration, check out how I use cookie cutters in this spring-time board, Back to School Board, and St. Paddy’s Day Board.
What’s On This Board
Feel free to use your dog’s favorite treat brand, but mine is definitely Full Moon because their treats are 100% human grade, all natural, and made in the USA. No matter what you use, just remember to use a variety of shapes and sizes to make your board look more dynamic.

The Dog Treats
- Full Moon Organic Chicken Training Treats

- Cucumbers, sliced lengthwise
- Strawberries, cut in half
- Carrots, sliced lengthwise and cut into 3-inch segments

How to Build This BarkCuterie Board
- Check out the tutorial here for more tips (and take a peek at this pup’s reaction here)!
- Start by prepping the produce and cheese using cookie cutters. I used a big bone for the cucumbers, hearts for the strawberries, and a small bone for the carrots. I also used the different sized bones (which you can buy here!), as well as a dog shape, for the cheese. If you want to get extra creative, use letter cookie cutters to write your pup’s name out in cheese!
- Next, add the bigger dog treats, like the sticks, tenders, strips, and jerky, to the outside of the board.
- Add the peanut butter to a small bowl and place it in the center of the board. Add your two biggest cookie cutters next to it on the board and fill them with small training treats.
- Finally add the shaped produce to the board and fill in any remaining empty space with the cheese. If you’re using letters, lay them over the biggest, flattest treats at the top of the board.

You don’t have to wait for National Pet Day or even National Dog Day (see more below) to roll around to celebrate man’s best friend! Whip up this doggone tasty board to celebrate your dog’s birthday (this is my go-to for human birthday celebrations), mark a very special “Gotcha” day, reward them for learning a new trick, or just to show them how much you love them. After all, the way to a dog’s heart is through their stomach!

Toxic Foods to Always Avoid
There are a ton of human foods dogs can eat, but make sure to keep these away from your doggo:
- Grapes
- Avocado
- Cherries
- Tomatoes
- Mushrooms
- Almonds
- Chocolate
- Cinnamon
- Ice cream
- Anything spicy!

Through the course of the pandemic, people have been home much more than usual, and some have been alone–except for their beloved pets. Pets are, for many, part of the family, so these treat boards are a perfect way to honor or spoil a beloved canine.
