Snacklebox

The snackle box has to be one of my favorite things I’ve come across on the internet. It’s exactly what it sounds like: A tackle box filled with all your favorite charcuterie snacks! If you’re unfamiliar with tackle boxes, they’re containers with lots of different small compartments originally meant for sorting and storing all sorts of fishing gear. In this case, we’re using all those compartments to organize all those cheese board goodies and keep them fresh. Plus, tackle boxes are meant to be taken on the go! Can you say picnic?

How To Make Tackle Box Charcuterie

  • Measure and cut deli paper to fit the compartments of the top two levels of the tackle box. Place two food-safe reusable ice packs in the bottom level.
  • Place all the prepared produce into separate zip-top bags and place on top of the ice packs in the bottom layer.
  • Add the Goldfish, Cheez-its, pretzels, sour patch kids, and swimmers into individual compartments in the second level of the box.
  • Line the salami, white cheddar, and medium cheddar in separate sections in the top level. Add the crackers in a line alone the back of the top level. Enjoy!

The Best Snackle Boxes Containers

All you have to do is search for “tackle boxes” on Amazon and the options are endless. This is the snackle box that I used, but here are a few other options:

Just be mindful that tackle boxes are not necessarily food safe (i.e. made for food consumption), so I used deli liners before putting the food into the box.

Snackle Box Ideas for Adults

When it comes to snack boards, I tend to add things that everyone in the fam can enjoy. But if you’re planning an adults-only gathering, here are some of my favorite ideas.

  • Swap the mild cheddar for aged cheddar or gouda
  • Opt for hard cheeses like manchego
  • Add a calabrese salami for some spice!
  • Replace the goldfish and Cheez-Its for some more classic accoutrements like Castelvetrano olives, Marcona almonds, or cornichons
  • Add in some boozy gummies
  • Throw in your favorite jerky!

No matter what you pack or who you’re serving, just make sure to choose items that will survive the heat the best. As in… don’t add chocolate or soft cheeses! And try to keep your snackle box in the shade or a cool environment.
