Goat cheese dip can only be made better with avocado. This mixed avocado and goat cheese dip is herby, creamy, and delicious on just about everything. Similar to my sweet Avocado Chocolate Dip, adding avocado into the mix adds a depth of flavor and smoothness of texture that takes this dip from great to spectacular!
Plus, it pairs great with prosciutto! Crisp it up and sprinkle it on top of the dip or serve it alongside a prosciutto appetizer.

The age-old question! I mainly go by feel: if you gently squeeze it, it should feel soft but not mushy. Too firm and it’s underripe, too squishy and it’s overripe! You can also check for color and texture: the color should be a purply, black and the skin texture should be bumpy.
Pro tip: If your avocados are too firm, place them in a brown paper bag (alone or with a banana) to speed up the ripening process.
Avocado Goat Cheese Dip Ingredients
- 2 slices prosciutto
- 1 avocado, seeded, peeled, and cubed
- 4 ounces plain goat cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 2 teaspoons white balsamic vinegar
- ⅛ teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
- ⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
How To Make Avocado and Goat Cheese Dip
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Add the prosciutto to the prepared sheet. Cover with another sheet of parchment paper and a second baking sheet. Roast until crispy, 15 to 20 minutes, being careful not to overcook. Remove from the oven and let cool.
- In the base of a food processor, combine the avocado, goat cheese, chives, basil, parsley, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Pulse until combined and smooth, scraping down sides as needed. (Blend less for a chunkier texture!)
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and crumble crispy prosciutto on top.
Pro tip: If you don’t have a food processor, combine the ingredients in a large bowl with a whisk or fork until smooth. You won’t be able to get a super smooth dip, but it’ll still taste delicious!
