spiced sweet nuts recipe

Who doesn’t love spiced sweet nuts? On our second date, Greg made me his famous candied nuts, and I fell in love (with the nuts! And then with Greg). Now they’re somewhat of a tradition in our little family, so I wanted to share the love with all of you!

We call them “Greg’s Crusty Nuts” (yes, we’re aware!) because they are sweet, roast-y, crunchy, candied, delicious, and, yes, crusty (in the best possible way). Try them for yourself! I promise you’ll never serve regular ol’ mixed nuts ever again.

How To Make Greg’s Roasted Nuts

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly coat with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the egg white, salt, and 1 TBSP water. Add the nuts and toss to coat. Drain thoroughly, about 4 minutes.
  • In a second large bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and coriander. Add the drained nuts and toss to evenly coat. Spread out in an even layer on the prepared sheet. Roast, rotating the sheet halfway through, until crusty and toasted, 40-45 minutes.
  • Let the nuts cool on the sheet, then break apart. Enjoy!

I like to eat them on their own as a snack, but they would also be delicious on any cheese board! Try subbing them in for the nuts on these boards:

I have made Greg’s crusty nuts over three times and it’s always a hit. It’s the perfect mix of spices.
