Memorial Day and 4th of July appetizers are a must for your holiday barbecue. This crowd-pleasing red, white, and blue cheese board makes for one heck of a starter, but it’s also sweet enough to serve as a dessert! Between the burgers, hot dogs, and potato salad, this American flag-themed snack is the perfect pop of freshness to add to your spread.
Ever since my Ultimate Burrata Board went viral, I’ve been remixing it with all kinds of tasty flavors. Given how much you loved the Baked Strawberry and Burrata Crostini, I knew this berry-burrata combo would be a win-win. You can also add prosciutto to the mix (check out my Burrata and Prosciutto Crostini).

4th of July Appetizer Ingredients
This fresh and creamy burrata board is a perfect holiday treat–serve it in a bowl or with sliced bread.
Produce
- Strawberries, halved
- Blackberries
- Raspberries
Cheese
- 5 burrata balls, drained
- White cheddar, cut into stars
Garnish
- Extra-virgin olive oil
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
How To Make This Red, White & Blue Cheese Board
- Add a small square appetizer plate to the upper left-hand corner of a rectangular board (bonus points if it has a lip at the edge like this one to help keep everything from spilling).
- Next, add the cherries in a 2-inch wide row at the top of the board and to the right of the square dish. Add 2 burrata balls directly below. Spoon the strawberries onto the board in a separate 2-inch-thick row below the burrata, making sure the fruit reaches the sides of the board. Place the remaining burrata balls on the board below the strawberries.
- Add the blackberries to the dish, then decorate them with the cheddar cheese stars. Cut each burrata ball in half, then pull them apart using a fork until the cheese covers the spaces in the board.
- Add the raspberries on top of the strawberries, then top the burrata with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Enjoy!
Flag Cheese Board Step-by-Step Instructions
- Grab a wood board + a small square plate. Line Board with cherries and 2 balls or burrata.
- Add in a row of strawberries and another row of burrata.
- load blackberries onto square plate followed by cheese stars.
- Cut and spread out burrata, then garnish with olive oil, salt & pepper.

The Tools of the Trade
- My favorite rectangular wood board with a lip (I basically use it for every Burrata Board to avoid messes)

Wow, that looks amazing! Will definitely try for July 4th
I love this Valentine board. I brought it to a friends house and it was the head of the party. It is easy to put together and has a little something for everyone. We have a lot of allergies within our family so I always make one big board and then a smaller Allergy friendly board. It’s such a beautiful way to include everybody and not just have one small little thing on the side for people with allergies.
I love this board. It is delicious and so cute for Memorial Day! It is easy and quick but everyone loves it!
